“Mesdames, Messieurs. Pour la premiére fois dans l’histoire de nos belles professions, void réunis à Bruxelles des spécialistes de la Beauté de différents pays qui se sont imposé pour tâche de constituer un Comité International D’Esthétique et de Cosmétologie.”

(Ladies and Gentlemen. For the first time in the history of our beautiful profession we come together in Brussels as beauty specialists from different countries to establish an International Committee of Esthetics and Cosmetology.)

The suggestion of this meeting was the dream of Jacques Poirsons, teacher of Esthetiques in Paris. The first meeting of international beauty therapy representatives attracted people from Belgium, France, Holland, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland and Sweden.

Comite International d'Esthetique et de Cosmetologie was founded.

1947

First sections accepted: Belgium, Austria, The Netherlands & Switzerland.

1956

The abbreviation CIDESCO was officially accepted.

1947

Comite International d'Esthetique et de Cosmetologie was founded.

1957

First CIDESCO Beauty Therapy Schools accredited in Belgium, Germany & Switzerland.

1958

First CIDESCO Diploma issued.

1963

The first female President elected, Ria de Korte from The Netherlands.

1974

Examinations for Beauty Therapists (Post Graduate) with professional experience introduced.

1977

CIDESCO received royal endorsement from Princess Grace of Monaco.

1993

First CIDESCO LINK publication introduced.

1996

First official Examiners Meeting held.

2006

CIDESCO Spa Qualification introduced.

2014

New Qualifications introduced: New Spa Therapy Diploma, Beauty & Spa Management Diploma and updated Media Make-up Diploma.
